Blackfield Nursery
At Blackfield Primary School, we are lucky to boast the we have our very own Nursery School. We can provide the educational journey for children as young as 2 all the way through their education to age 11 when they leave us to join a secondary school.
Our Nursery is a fantastic, spacious setting full of experienced staff who benefit from being led by one of our Early Years specialist teachers and a Nursery Manager.
Children at our nursery get the benefit of a close family feel from the nursery, as well as having access to everything that our well-resourced primary school offers them. You can regualrly find our children digging in our vegetable garden or exploring our forest school setting.
Not only this, but the teaching staff in Year R are frequent visitors into our nursery, so transition from pre-school to Year R is seemless for those children and ensures they have a fantastic start when beginning 'big school'.
Supervision
The ratios for our nursery seting is:
- 1 adult per 5 children aged 2 years (1:5)
- 1 adult per 8 children aged 3 years and above (1:8)
Children are supervised (wihtin sight and hearing) at all times within our setting with staff who are adequately skilled and have the appropriate qualifications.
