Clubs & Activities

At Blackfield Primary and Nursery School, we want children to have opportunities to discover new interests, develop their talents and try something new.

We offer a wide range of clubs and activities before school, at lunchtime and after school. Our programme changes throughout the year to give children access to different experiences and to provide opportunities for children across different ages.

Our club offer typically includes a mixture of sport, dance, creative activities, music, leadership opportunities and other special interests. Recent clubs have included football, basketball, athletics, dodgeball, netball, cricket, dance, gymnastics, trampolining, art, cooking and Digital Leaders.

Many of our clubs are run by Blackfield staff, alongside additional opportunities provided by external organisations. While some externally provided activities have a charge, we are committed to providing a strong range of opportunities for children to participate in clubs and activities across the school year.

Children's University

We are proud to support Children's University, which encourages and celebrates children's participation in learning and activities beyond the classroom.

Children collect learning credits through participating in recognised activities, including school clubs and activities outside school. As their credits build, children can work towards Children's University awards and take part in a special graduation ceremony to celebrate their achievements.

Participation in Children's University is provided free of charge to our disadvantaged pupils, helping us ensure that as many children as possible can benefit from the opportunities available.

A new programme of clubs and activities is offered each term. Once published, parents can sign their child up through the Arbor Parent Portal.
