PE & Sport Premium
Since April 2013 the government has provided additional funding to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools.
This funding has been jointly allocated by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport.
Purpose of Funding
Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but schools have been given the freedom to choose how they do this.
The overall objective is to show that their spending has led to a “direct and sustained” improvement in sporting provision.
Our Approach to Sport
Sport is a huge part of Blackfield Primary. We believe that every child should get the opportunity to take part in sport, both for fun and competitively. Our children take part in both internal competitions, where children compete against other children from our own school, and external competitions where we compete against children from schools in the New Forest and Southampton.
We have been recognised for our excellent focus on sport participation through the New Forest School Sports Partnership, who have awarded us the prestigious 'Platinum Kite Mark', which has only been awarded to three schools in the whole of the New Forest.Sport is such a fantastic vehicle for demonstrating our school INSPIRE values and working hard, being a good sports person and trying your best is what we live and breathe!
