The School Day

Start and Finish Times
At Blackfield Primary School the school day starts at 8:35am for all pupils. Our gates to both the KS1 and KS2 playgrounds are open from 8:25 am and there is a no-drive zone on our school grounds between 8:15am-8:45am and at the end of the day between 3:00pm -3:35pm.

Year R, 1 and 2: 8:35am - 3:10pm = (32.9 hours per week)
Year 3, 4, 5 and 6: 8:35am - 3:25pm = (34.15 hours per week)

Assemblies
At Blackfield Primary School we have whole school INSPIRE values assemblies every Monday and Celebration assembly every Friday. Each year group will then have one of: Singing assembly, Key Stage assembly or Class assembly on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursdays. 

Break and Lunch
Breaktime is staggered between 10:20am - 10:50am for different year groups and lunch time is between 12:00pm - 1:00pm with different age groups eating at different times.

Extra-curricular Activities
We have a host of before, during and after school clubs for children to attend. Some are run free of charge by school staff and some require a small charge as they are run by external companies. All morning clubs start at 8:05 am and finish at 8:30am. Lunch clubs are during lunch break and after school clubs finish at 4:15pm.
