A School Calendar That Gives Something Back

There are some very practical benefits to working at Blackfield too.

Our school year is organised differently from many schools, allowing us to offer staff and families a two-week October half term, alongside additional breaks at other points during the year.

That extra time in the autumn term makes a real difference — whether you use it to travel, spend time with family or simply properly switch off and recharge.

It's a benefit our staff genuinely value.

Schools are ultimately about people.

Our teachers, LSAs, pastoral and inclusion staff, administrators, site team and leaders all contribute to making Blackfield what it is.

We want to work hard and achieve great things for children, but we also want Blackfield to be somewhere people enjoy working.

There is a strong social side to school life, with staff events, informal get-togethers and traditions that have become part of Blackfield.

One of those is our annual staff Christmas pantomime for the children. It's difficult to explain until you've experienced it!

we really do have our own Harry Potter Knight Bus.
